
Viral TikTok Feta Pasta with Oregano and Chile de Arbol Flakes

At the start of 2021, a TikTok trend went viral, causing local supermarkets to run out of one specific ingredient: Feta Cheese. The Baked Feta Pasta became insanely popular thanks to the social media platform but also because everyone who has tried it can’t seem to put the plate down. The recipe consists of baking a block of Feta cheese surrounded by cherry tomatoes. This mix creates a tasty and creamy tomato sauce that lives up to its reputation. The dish was initially created and shared by a Finnish food blogger back in 2018, but it barely made its way to the video platform a couple of months ago. Since then, millions of people have made their own videos recreating and trying this delicious pasta dish; making changes to the original recipe and adding their own personal ingredients.
Well, we didn’t want to stay behind on the trend; and although the Feta cheese shortage pulled us back a little, we finally managed to recreate this amazing Feta Pasta dish. In our version we decided to add some oregano and chile de arbol flakes, and the result was exquisite. So here you have it, the most famous Pasta recipe of 2021. We hope you like it!

Ingredients

1 lb Conchiglie pasta (seashells)

1 block of feta cheese
-
Cherry tomatoes

1 cup parmesan cheese
-
Baby spinach
-
Minced garlic
-
2 tbsp of oregano
-
2 ground chile de arbol peppers
-
Salt and pepper to taste

Olive oil
Directions
Start by cooking your pasta, we sprinkled the water with some salt to give it some flavor. Once cooked, put aside.
Warm up your oven or pot (we are using a dutch oven). Once it's warm you can go ahead and place the feta cheese block in the middle and then the cherry tomatoes all around.
Pour your olive oil all over the cheese and tomatoes and then place your spinach and parmesan cheese on top along with all your spices, we used minced garlic, Ole Rico oregano, 2 ground Chile de Arbol flakes (we ground them with a coffee grinder), salt and pepper.
Let everything cook for about 10-15 minutes, You'll notice how the cheese starts to melt and the tomatoes soften. You can start mixing to create a creamy sauce.
Once the tomato and cheese sauce is ready, you can go ahead and mix with your pasta.
